World Expo 2010
With the organizers anticipating as many as 100 million visitors, Shanghai Expo 2010 is set to be the largest event of its kind ever held.
It will last 184 days – from 1 May to 31 October 2010 – and cover a 5.28 km² area in south of The Bund and the old French Concession on the banks of the Huangpu River. Close to a third of the site will be allotted to the pavilions of foreign countries and international organizations, with 186 of the former and 47 of the latter having already announced their participation as of 23 March 2009.
