The French Company for the Exhibition of Shanghai 2010 (COFRES SAS) is a company which the capital is detenu in 100 % by the State. It is in charge of building and animating the pavilion of France within the Universal Exhibition of Shanghai 2010.
In 2002, France was the first country to have officially accepted the invitation of the Chinese authorities to take part in Expo of Shanghai 2010. I have the honor to have been selected in October 2007 to chair this company and to conclude this great architectural project of France in China. The pavilion of France for Expo of Shanghai 2010 is an essential element of the relation between the two countries.
The French participation in the expo Shanghai 2010 has as an ambition of:
-Underlining the friendship of French people and Chinese which are one and the other inherited to a history and an art of living millenia;
-Presenting the French modernity and dynamism, founded on the technological innovation;
-Showing the quality of life of the French urban cities who privilege new forms of sustainable development.
COFRES SAS has as an ambition to coordinate the public and private initiatives by calling synergies of the economic actors, cultural and scientific. As well by its architectural aspect very innovating as by its contents, the House of France will represent with the visitors of Shanghai the 2010 multiple facets of the creativity of our country.
