Urban Best Practices Area
The zone of the best urban practices, in sector E, exposes in a concentrated way, various practical projects, recognized innovating, implemented by the cities representative of the world in order to improve the quality of the urban life.
This space extends on 15 hectares for the cities and the organizers think of retaining about thirty good practices.
According to the organizers 87 towns of 27 countries presented their candidature. In France, Paris, the Rhone-Alpes, Alsace answered the invitation to tender. The files will be examined by a commission of international selection made up of 20 members international representatives. The presidency of this commission is jointly assured by Vincente Gonzalez Loscertales, general secretary of the BIE and by Anna Kajumulo Tibaijuka, executive director of UN-habitat.
The selected good practices will be distributed in the following way:
-life downtown ("livable cities"): 6 cases
-durable town planning ("sustainable urbanization"): 6 cases
-protection and valorization of the historical heritage ("historic heritages"): 3cases
-Technological innovation in environmental material ("technological innovation in the built environment"): 15 cases.
The surface reserve for each good practice lies between 1500 and 2000m². It is delivered naked and free. Decoration or development of good practice is with the load of the selected city. Tha participants must carefully articulate the contence with the national pavilion.
